"I wanted to tell this story as your eulogy, but no one asked. It is the story of the dash. Raymond Edward Wyatt, December 10, 1938 -(dash) July 24, 2010. Raymond Wyatt was a son, a brother, the husband of my oldest sister anita, father to his eight children, grandfather to twenty, great-grandfather to 7, brother-in-law to myself and my six sisters, a brother-in-law twice on his side of the family if I am correct, and also a son-in-law. Ray had many carreers during his lifetime. I remember him telling stories of his work in Tulee and Greenland, he worked at the morgue at the old General Hospital, he was a mason, and his last employment was with a division of the Dept of Transport at the airport. Ray was welcomed into my family long before I was, and sometimes I thought he was more family than I was. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Anita were at a great point in their lives, enjoying their retirement years together, and were hardly ever apart. Ray was known as a man who loved to eat......not just everyday foods, but the special things Anita cooked and baked for him, cheeses, and as I recall from a young girl, the stinkier the cheese the better it was to him. He loved chocolate/ It could be any chocolate, but his favourites were the specialty kinds from other countries. He loved his coffee, black that was, which I made many evenings after school for him, except in his younger days when he drank it with Sam. A visit to Anita and Ray\'s was always a joy, as they both welcomed you with open arms, and Ray had so many stories to tell from his lifetime. Ray Wyatt was a friend to many. He was a kind, caring, and compassionate man. He was a fine gentleman. The wake at Caul\'s and the funeral at St. Patrick\'s was an example of just how many lives he had touched over the years. The dash between Ray\'s date of birth and the date of his death is not just any ordinary dash, it is everything that Ray Wyatt became from the time of his birth to the time of his death. Ray Wyatt\'s dash is who he was. Ray, my brother-in-law, you have left a void in so many lives, but we all know that you will be with us all forever, and surround us all with your love. I love you, and will miss you always."
